BAKU, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran, and Georgia expressed their readiness to further enhance solidarity and cooperation after their foreign ministers' first quadrilateral meeting here on Thursday.

According to the joint Baku Statement, the diplomats agreed to carry out existing cooperative projects in the field of energy, transport, finance, agriculture, tourism, environment, etc.

They agreed to increase transit potential on "South-West" route starting from the Iranian ports of Bandar-Abbas and Chabahar at the Gulf through Rasht-Astara, connecting to Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.

The ministers also reiterated their firm commitment to strengthen cooperation in the fight against terrorism, violent extremism and separatism in all their forms.

According to the statement, Georgia will host the next quadrilateral foreign ministers' meeting.
