BERLIN, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Augsburg's attacking midfielder Takashi Usami will stay another season on loan at Fortuna Dusseldorf, both Bundesliga clubs confirmed on Sunday.

The 26-year-old Japan international will continue his loan spell at newly promoted Dusseldorf after agreeing on a season long loan deal.

"We are very happy that Takashi Usami is back with us. He has shown fantastic performances especially in the second half of the last season. He will continue to play a special role in our team in the upcoming season," Dusseldorf coach Friedhelm Funkel said.

The former Bayern Munich and Hoffenheim player joined Augsburg in 2016 before he moved to Dusseldorf on loan in 2017. Usami provided ever since eight goals and three assists in overall 28 appearances.

"I am very happy to return to my club and my city. The next season in the Bundesliga will be a big challenge for Fortuna and for me, which I am looking forward to," Usami told the club's official homepage.

Dusseldorf will encounter Augsburg for their Bundesliga season opener on Aug. 25. Enditem
