JAKARTA, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian men's pair of Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto secured a gold medal in the Syed Modi International Badminton Championships in India.

Fajar/Rian defeated India's Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty 21-11, 22-20. Fajar/Rian won the first game easily but in the second game the pair faced firm resistance from their Indian opponents.

"In first game we were focused immediately, but in the second game the opponent changed the style of their play but we could anticipate it in the end, as we learned from the mistakes we made at the beginning of the second game," said Fajar.

The 2018 Syed Modi International is the 25th tournament of the 2018 BWF World Tour.
