LONDON, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- British stocks increased on Monday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 1.18 percent, or 82.17 points, to close at 7,062.41 points.

Antofagasta, a copper mining company, soared 7.85 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Evraz and Anglo American increased by 7.64 percent and 6.97 percent, respectively.

Glaxosmithkline,a British pharmaceutical company,was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 7.62 percent.
