NANNING, China, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- The organizing committee of the 2019 Sudirman Cup Badminton Tournament, with Russia just added to the mix, has confirmed that 32 teams including China, Japan, Denmark, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia will participate in the event.

The 2019 Sudirman Cup will be held from May 19-26 in Nanning, the capital city of South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

"We're very excited about coming to Nanning, there's clearly very strong passion for badminton in here. People are very excited about event coming. Sudirman Cup is one of the most prestigious tournaments, and we know that we'll have a great event here," said Darren Parks, BWF events director.

Xia Xuanze, vice president of the Chinese Badminton Association, told Xinhua that the Chinese badminton team is currently preparing for the event and that the country's final roster would be released later.
