WASHINGTON, March 9 (Xinhua) -- Chinese player Xu Yifan paired up with Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski to sail into the last eight at the BNP Paribas Open women's doubles event in Indian Wells, California on Saturday.

The fifth seeded pair was never really tested and needed only one hour to claim the win at 6-3, 6-4 over Abigail Spears of the United States and Monica Niculescu of Romania.

The BNP Paribas Open will end on March 17.
