TUNIS, April 18 (Xinhua) -- The Tunisian state television said Thursday it will host the "Chinese Film Week in Tunisia 2019" starting on April 22.

The launching ceremony of this event was held Thursday at the headquarters of the Tunisian state television, in the presence of its Secretary-General Faisal Al-Sahrawi, Chinese Ambassador to Tunisia Wang Wenbin and Cao Ying, head of the China Movie Channel, a partner in organizing this cultural event.

During the film week, five Chinese feature films and documentaries will be screened on the national television channels "Watanya 1" and "Watanya 2".

Speaking at the ceremony, Wang underscored the importance of the Chinese Film Week in Tunisia and its role in promoting cultural exchange and enhancing the friendship between China and Tunisia.

This event is also part of the celebration marking the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Tunisia diplomatic relations.
