NAPLES, Italy, June 29 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese women soccer team arrived in Naples, Italy on Saturday to compete in the upcoming 2019 World Summer University Games.

"We are confident and hope to have a good result," said team captain Wang Huan.

The Games will open on July 3 and the women's soccer tournament will kick off on July 4.

The Chinese women's soccer team has been pitted in the group alongside Mexico and Russia.

The Summer Universiade, a biennial sports gala hosted by the International University Sports Federation (FISU), was initiated six decades ago in Torino. Naples is to host its 30th edition.

China is sending 198 student athletes, with an average age of 22, to compete in 144 events in 14 sports.
